May 31 Sunday / Art Kintsugi Workshop
If this workshop is sold out, please email [email protected], Miki will add you to our waitlist and let you know when new workshop dates are released.
Time: 10:30AM- 2:30PM
Location: Showroom in South Melbourne
Hosted by Yoko Kawada from Art Kintsugi Sydney
'Kintsugi' is a centuries-old Japanese art of repairing broken ceramic objects using lacquer and gold dust, based on the philosophy of 'Wabi Sabi' - finding beauty in imperfection - and giving a new life to items that would otherwise be thrown away...
This introductory class will focus on 'Modern Kintsugi' - which follows the principles of ancient Kintsugi but utilises accessible, modern materials to enable the entire process to be finished within the 3-4 hour class time - so that at the end of the class, each participant will have their very own piece of individually crafted Kintsugi art!
Once a ticket is purchased, Sensei Yoko will prepare all materials needed for the Art Kintsugi class - including one small (broken) MIJ plate for every participant.
Original: $119.41
